The Local Are around Nice and the Old Town


Restaurants :

There are many! Walk along Rue de France and especially at night into Cours Saleya in the old town (Vieux Nice).

Some Restaurant Names:

1.    Bistro D’Antoine - Rue de la Prefecture (Vieux Nice)            (often need to book)
2.    Le Tiers Bouchon - Rue de la Prefecture (Vieux Nice)
3.    Maison de Marie - Rue Massena (down lane way        (lovely courtyard)- often need to book)
4.    Chez Juliette - Old Town (Vieux Nice), 1 Rue Rossetti.
5.    Barracouda - 2 Rue Meyerbeer.
6.    Safari - Cours Saleya           
7.    11 Art - Rue Meyerbeer         (Trendy)
8.    Koudou - Promenade Des Anglais, near Westend Hotel
9.    Siechel - Promenade Des Anglais, Westend Hotel
10.    Le Grand Balcon - Near the opera House  (Vieux Nice)   (good food, a little more pricey, and often need to book)
11.    Taverna - Rue Massena.
12.    Blue Beach - On the beach, great if you like Grilled prawns!

Lunches can also be very reasonable


Shopping 

Main Shopping areas are Rue De France and Avenue Jean Medicin.
 
To get to Rue de France, turn right on exiting the apartment building and walk down Rue Cronstadt to Rue de France, Turn left onto Rue de France.

Rue de France becomes Rue Massena and brings you up to the Place de Massena. Galleria LaFayette is on the far left corner of the Place, at the bottom of Avenue Jean Medecin.

There are many more boutiques of Rue De France and Ave Jean Medicin, and a few in the old town.

There are some great shops, craft shops etc up in the old town.

You can get to the old town by taking a right at the place de Massena. Cross the Avenue. Head towards the Palais de Justice, and head towards Rue de la prefecture, and from there you can go exploring up and around the old streets.

Train Station :   SNCF- Gare, Nice-Ville on Ave Thiers.
